Happy March!

April showers bring… new kiddos! We have 4 new squirrely kiddos joining us once a week now and our one-room school house is teeming with energy and learning. Microschooling is quickly becoming my favorite thing and our students are growing everyday. I saw huge gains in math understanding of my first-grader today who figured out how to make equivalent number sentences: 4+9 = 7+____? Just a few weeks ago, using blocks to add was a huge teary challenge..and now look at K go!

Global Ex Academy founder Dr. Jenaya Perdue (me!!) was featured on a podcast with Marpessa Allen at You Be You Early Learning! I feel a little bit famous. We chatted on choosing the best learning environment for your kiddo, meaningful ways to introduce your kiddo to the world, and why the microschool instead of traditional programs. Incredible news! Global Ex Academy is now approved for FREE homeschool enrichment starting in the fall! We will be offering art, art/Spanish hybrid, Tai Chi, expressive writing, Global Ex Project-Based Learning, “Bring Your Own Curriculum” vibe hub, and Kindergarten Plus! This is a state-funded program for K-12 students.

Growing Denver’s newest K-5 microschool and homeschool hub is where all of my attention goes. I’ll be sharing frequently asked questions regarding the microschool life and structure. If you’ve got a question you would like me to answer, feel free to message me and you’ll probably see a response in a future newsletter.

To donate books:

1. Click on this link https://www.righteousproject.org/global-ex-education which notifies us that you want to make a tax-deductible donation for Dr. J’s multilingual kids books.
2. Decide what you want to give. $10 gets a kid a book. Give $1. Give $1,000,000.
3. Want the book to go to a specific school, organization, teacher, principal, community leader, hospital, foster parent…? Write in the “Gift Recipient Notes” section above the purple “Donate” button. We will notify you when books are dropped off to them.
4. Click the “Donate” button to finalize your donation on the secure link.

If your book gift recipient is in the Denver Metro area, I’ll personally drop autographed copies off and may even be able to do an author-signing with the littles. If the recipient doesn’t live in Denver, Global Ex will cover shipping up to $10 for each donation.
